Pakistan defeats Aussies by 33

Australia scored 117 for 7 in their 20 overs, falling 33 runs short of their winning target against Pakistan in the Super Eight stage match on Tuesday. 

Despite the result, Australia ensured their spot in the semis by scoring the 112 runs required for it, with Michael Hussey (54 off 47 balls) being the lone warrior for his side at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. 

Saeed Ajmal went through the defences of Mathew Wade (13), moments before trapping Pat Cummins (0) leg before to end with figures of 3 for 17. 

Cameron White (12) was sent packing by Mohammad Hafeez for a catch to Imran Nazir, while Glenn Maxwell was dismissed moments later to leave them reeling at 65 for 5. 

Aussie openers, Shane Watson (8) and David Warner (8), were both trapped leg before by Hasan Raza and Hafeez respectively early in their chase. Skipper George Bailey (15) was taken out by Ajmal in the same fashion. 

Ajmal bagged three wickets, while Hafeez and Raza took two wickets each. 

The result also dismissed South Africa's chances to progress in the tournament. 

To deny Pakistan their place, India will need to beat the South Africans by a huge margin to boost their Net Run Rate past their arch-rivals. 

Earlier, Pakistan put up 149 for 6 in their 20 overs. 

Umar Akmal (9) and Shoaib Malik (4) saw the team through to the total. 

Shahid Afridi (4) was dismissed clean bowled off Mitchell Starc while, Abdur Razzak (27) mistimed a Pat Cummins delivery for an easy catch to Shane Watson at backward point. 

Back to back wickets saw Kamran Akmal (32) and Nasir Jamshed (55 off 46) back to the pavilion. Akmal went back for a catch to Cameron White at extra cover off Stark, while Akmal was taken out by Xavier Doherty for a catch to David Warner at long on. 

The third wicket stand between Nasir and Kamran Akmal was worth 79 runs. Jamshed whacked four boundaries and two sixes. 

Opener Mohammed Hafeez (4) was trapped in front of the stumps by Starc, while the other opener Imran Nazir (14) was taken out by a Watson full toss for a catch to George Bailey at mid-off. 

Stark claimed three wickets while Doherty, Watson and Cummins bagged a wicket each. 

S Africa played, Pakistan won

South Africa played for a target of 153 in return of India who bat first and set a target for SA for 121 to go into Semi. But, SA did very good.

South Africa run 151 for all wickets, India won the match beating SA by 1 run only. However, SA did well but when 2 run needed from 2 ball then last wicket was bold out.

 

Bangladesh wins against India by 5 wickets

Bangladesh Cricket National Team achieves a very prestigious 5-wicket win against India in the ongoing 4th match of Asia Cup of Cricket (ACC). It is also their 1st win against India in the history of ACC.

The ODI held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital city of Dhaka of Bangladesh. In the day-night match, India bated first and scored 289 for five. India achieved the year long awaited Century for Sachin and also for the team.

But the Tigers! they thought they honoured Sachin but not India. They speed up wheel of run and won a very important and 3rd ODI victory against India.

Mushfiqur Rahim, Bangladesh Team Captain made the winning boundary and run touched 293 for five.

First 100th century for Sachin in cricket history

Congratulations!  Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar. You are the first man, first cricketer for this untouchable and unprecedented achievement. Sachin has touched his 100th century toady in Bangladesh.   


Sachin was bating against Bangladesh in the 4th match of the 11th Asia Cup Cricket (ACC).  Teenage prodigy, Tendulkar was born on April 24, 1973 in Mumbai and made his Test debut against Pakistan as a curly-haired 16-year-old, becoming the youngest Indian Test player. A year later, he hit his maiden Test hundred in England. 

Tendulkar holds a number of batting records, including the aggregate one-day runs (18,360 at the time of reaching his 100th ton) and centuries (49). He also holds the record for most Test hundreds (51).

Brisbane event without Sharapova

Three-time major winner Maria Sharapova has been forced to withdraw from January's Brisbane International event because of an ankle injury which to begin on New Year's Day.

Sharapova released a statement saying: "I was really looking forward to starting my 2012 season at the Brisbane International, which has a fantastic reputation as a great and welcoming event. "Unfortunately my ankle is not 100% and I won't be able to make it this year."

The 24-year-old Russian suffered the injury in September's Pan Pacific Open, and she has failed to shake off the problem.

However, Sharapova still believes she will be fit for the Australian Open, which gets underway in Melbourne on January 16, 2012.

"I do expect to be ready for the year's first grand slam and I am really looking forward to competing on court," added Sharapova, who won the Australian Open in 2008.

Despite Sharapova's absence, the Brisbane tournament -- which begins on New Year's Day -- still has a strong entry list with Serena Williams, Samantha Stosur and Kim Clijsters all confirmed starters.

Hackers attack on Stratfor

Hackers Anonymous and LulzSec have claimed that they could leak and disclose data of credit card through their attack on .Stratfor, a global intelligence company.      

Hackers targeted Stratfor, a global intelligence company, but it was unclear Sunday evening whether the breach and apparent release of credit card information was the work of the group Anonymous.

In a posting on the website Pastebin, hackers said they released Stratfor subscriber data, including information on 4,000 credit cards as well as the company's "private client" list. The posting cited AntiSec, a Web-based collaboration with the activist hacking groups Anonymous and LulzSec.

U.S.-based Stratfor, which provides independent analysis of international affairs and security threats, sent an e-mail to subscribers on Sunday:

"On December 24th an unauthorized party disclosed personally identifiable information and related credit card data of some of our members. We have reason to believe that your personal and credit card data could have been included in the information that was illegally obtained and disclosed."

But Stratfor also said the "private clients" disclosure was "merely a list of some of the members that have purchased our publications and does not comprise a list of individuals or entities that have a relationship with Stratfor beyond their purchase of our subscription-based publications."
